Where to stay in Tokyo: Asakusa, Shinjuku or Tokyo Station?
There is no single best neighbourhood for every Tokyo trip. Start with the places you will actually visit, then compare accommodation and transport together.
Consider Asakusa if Senso-ji, neighbourhood walks and eastern Tokyo are important parts of your plan. Map the actual property, not just its district label. A hotel described as being in Asakusa may still involve a walk or transfer to the particular station you need.
Shinjuku is worth comparing if your selected day tours or transport depart from this area. Check the precise meeting address before choosing a room nearby. A large station area can take time to navigate, and two properties in the same neighbourhood may feel very different at night.
Tokyo Station area · Think about onward travel
If your trip continues beyond Tokyo, map your onward route and consider whether staying around Tokyo Station makes the journey simpler. Compare the walking route with luggage, the relevant station entrance and the total accommodation price. A convenient label should not replace checking the actual address.
Compare the booking you will really use
Occupancy: enter all adults and children and check the room’s actual sleeping arrangements.
Total: compare the full stay, taxes and any fees shown before payment.
Flexibility: compare cancellation deadlines for your selected rate.
Access: review luggage storage, lift access and arrival arrangements if you need them.
Shortlist a few properties in two suitable areas. Then choose based on your itinerary, comfort and the complete price, rather than a single nightly headline.
