Haneda · Compare two rail routes
Haneda connects to the Keikyu Line and Tokyo Monorail. Choose by the connection closest to your accommodation, not only the ride from the airport. Include station walking and luggage in the comparison. Confirm which terminal your flight uses, especially when returning to the airport.
Narita · Match the service to your destination
Narita has JR and Keisei rail options. Narita Express links the airport with major Tokyo stations; Skyliner serves Nippori and Keisei-Ueno. Airport buses can be useful when their stop suits your hotel. Compare the complete door-to-door route, seat arrangements and current fares on official pages.
Late arrivals and family groups
Check the last departure for your actual arrival day and leave time for baggage and arrival procedures. A private transfer may be worth comparing for a group with substantial luggage. Confirm passenger and suitcase capacity, pickup location, waiting time, flight-delay terms and child seats before paying.
Prepare the first hour
Save your hotel’s Japanese address, a screenshot of the route and the check-in instructions before flying. Keep an offline copy of essential confirmations. If the flight is delayed, recheck the final connection rather than following an old screenshot. Check fares again for your chosen date; this guide does not publish live prices.
Choose your airport route by the hotel, not just the station
From Narita, Skyliner to Nippori or Keisei-Ueno costs ¥2,580 per adult one way at the standard fare; the listed online discount is ¥2,310. Keep that offer separate from the walk-up price. Airport Bus TYO-NRT to Tokyo Station costs ¥1,500 on regular services, or ¥3,000 on designated late-night/early-morning departures. Advance reservations are currently suspended: at Narita, buy a ticket for a specific departure, then choose an unassigned seat. Full buses cannot take more passengers. The baggage rules limit hold luggage to one suitcase per passenger, with combined dimensions of about 158 cm; extra or oversized equipment is restricted.
From Haneda, Keikyu to Shinagawa costs ¥330 with a paper ticket or ¥327 with an IC card, as shown in the official fare tables for Terminal 3 and Terminals 1/2. These prices end at the named station, not your hotel. Compare onward fares, transfers, station exits and walking with luggage before choosing.
